Atins

Atins is a fishing village set where the Rio Preguiças meets the Atlantic Ocean, in the state of Maranhão. The settlement belongs to the municipality of Barreirinhas and sits at the entrance to Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses.

The dunes begin 2.5 km from the village, which makes Atins one of the gateways into the Lençóis Maranhenses. Barreirinhas itself lies in the Lençóis Maranhenses microregion.
