A 73 m waterfall in the Vale do Campo Redondo, in Ibicoara, Bahia, reached by a 2 km walk and often combined with nearby rock paintings.
Cachoeira do Licuri is a 73 m waterfall in the Vale do Campo Redondo, in Ibicoara, Bahia. Getting there means 9 km by car and 2 km on foot, an average of 30 minutes of walking, with a moderate level of effort.
The outing can end at the Raposa rock painting wall nearby, or continue on to Cachoeira das Raízes. With enough time in the day, the waterfall and the rock paintings are often done together.
Ibicoara is one of the six municipalities that share the Chapada Diamantina National Park, along with Andaraí, Itaetê, Lençóis, Mucugê and Palmeiras. Being in the municipality is not the same as being inside the park, but it is worth noting that, for anything within the park boundaries, ICMBio recommends hiring a visitor guide, since the trails are not signposted.
In the same municipality, the Vivai catalogue also lists Cachoeira do Buracão, Cachoeira da Fumacinha por Baixo (via Ibicoara), Cachoeira Véu de Noiva, Cachoeira Rio Preto and the Fazendas de Café da Chapada, the coffee farms of the Chapada.
There is an active experience in the Vivai catalogue that takes in Cachoeira do Licuri.
