Cachoeira do Sossego, in Lençóis, Bahia: a 20-metre waterfall at the end of an 8 km trail that follows the riverbed, with pools to swim along the way.
Cachoeira do Sossego is a 20-metre waterfall at the end of a walk that follows the riverbed, in Lençóis, Bahia.
The route covers about 8 km on foot from the town centre and takes around 3 hours. Much of it is walked over rock, which is why the physical effort is rated advanced. Pools appear along the way and work as swimming stops, and many visitors save this trail for the end of their stay in Lençóis, once they are used to the pace of the region.
Lençóis sits in the Seabra microregion and is one of the six municipalities that share the Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina, along with Andaraí, Ibicoara, Itaetê, Mucugê and Palmeiras. For anything inside the park boundaries, keep in mind that the trails are not signposted and ICMBio recommends hiring a visitor guide.
The Vivai catalogue has an active experience that includes Cachoeira do Sossego.
