Gamboa Viewpoint

Mirante da Gamboa is a lookout point that opens onto the sea and the landscape around Gamboa, in the municipality of Cairu, Bahia. From there you take in the coastline and the waters that surround the area, a view that makes for good photographs and for standing still a while.

Late afternoon is when most people come up, as the sun sets over the water. This is a place for looking rather than doing, so it is worth arriving without a schedule.

Cairu sits in the Valença micro-region and immediate region. Nearby, the Vivai catalogue lists spots such as Banco de Areia da Gamboa (the Gamboa sandbank), Praia do Tatiba, and the natural pools of Moreré and Garapuá, all of which pair well with a stop at the lookout.
