Stand up Paddle no Pantanal Marimbus, Andaraí
Transport not included

The Marimbus is the large wetland area of the Chapada Diamantina, reached from Andarai for canoeing, stand-up paddle and fishing on a light, two-hour outing.
The Marimbus is the large wetland of the Chapada Diamantina, a standing-water ecosystem that contrasts with the semi-arid land around it. The visit crosses these flooded plains by Canadian canoe, with room for stand-up paddle and fishing as well.
Coming from Andarai, access is through Fazenda Marimbus, at km 149 of the BA-142 road, the starting point for entering the wetland.
The outing takes around 2 hours on average and the physical effort is light, which makes it an easy addition to a trip through the region.
Andarai is one of the six municipalities of the Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina, along with Ibicoara, Itaete, Lencois, Mucuge and Palmeiras. For anything inside the park boundaries, there is no entrance fee, there is no mobile phone signal, and ICMBio recommends hiring a visitor guide, since the trails are not signposted.
Anyone planning days in the municipality will also find, in the Vivai catalogue, the Piscinas do Rio Roncador (via Andarai), Gruta da Paixao, Gruta da Marota, Balneario Rio Paraguacu and waterfalls such as Bom Jardim, Herculano, Invernada, Ramalho and Roncadeira.
There is an active experience in the Vivai catalogue that visits the Marimbus.
