Natural pools of Moreré

Natural pools of Moreré

Moreré's natural pools, on Ilha de Boipeba, appear among the reefs at low tide: clear, shallow water for swimming, floating and watching fish.

The natural pools of Moreré form among the reefs of Ilha de Boipeba and only appear when the tide goes out. As the sea pulls back, water stays trapped in the hollows of the coral barrier, leaving shallow basins of clear water.

The water is warm and shallow, which makes this a place to get in slowly, float and look down: small fish and corals are visible without any gear.

Because access depends on the tide cycle, it is worth checking the day's tide table before planning the trip. Outside low tide, the pools are simply not there.

Moreré is on Ilha de Boipeba, part of the archipelago that belongs to the municipality of Cairu, in Bahia. Elsewhere in the same municipality, the Vivai catalogue lists other coastal spots and viewpoints, such as the Piscinas naturais de Garapuá, Praia do Encanto on Quinta Praia, and the Banco de Areia da Gamboa.
