Flamengo Beach

Praia do Flamengo is a beach on the coast of Salvador, in Bahia, with pale sand, open sea and wind that rarely lets up. That steady breeze explains much of what happens there: kitesurfing and windsurfing are the activities most often seen along the sand.

For anyone not going out on a board, the beach works just as well at a slower pace. There are kiosks along the shore, and reaching the sand takes little effort, with no demanding walk or trail involved.

The beach shares a municipality with other places listed in the Vivai catalogue, such as Pelourinho, Igreja de São Francisco, Praia de Stella Maris and Baía de Todos os Santos, which makes it easy to build a Salvador itinerary mixing historic centre, bay and coastline.
