Papa-Gente Beach

Praia Papa-Gente is a quiet stretch of pale sand with calm water and coconut palms following the shoreline. It is the kind of beach where the day plans itself: spread out a towel, get in the water, wait for the light to soften.

It lies close to Praia do Forte, a village in the municipality of Mata de São João, on the northern coast of Bahia. Mata de São João belongs to the Catu microregion and the immediate region of Salvador.

Getting there takes light physical effort, which makes the beach workable for families with children, for older travellers and for anyone with no interest in a demanding walk.
