Morro do Pai Inácio

Morro do Pai Inácio

Morro do Pai Inacio in Chapada Diamantina, Bahia: a short, steep 25-minute climb to a 1,150 m summit with open views over the surrounding hills.

Morro do Pai Inacio is a mountain top at 1,150 m, with open views over the hills of Chapada Diamantina and a natural garden of bromeliads and orchids growing among the rocks.

The climb is short and steep, around 25 minutes on foot, with a light to moderate level of effort. From Lencois it is 26 km by car to the access point. Visiting hours run from 9am to 5pm, and late afternoon is the busiest time because of the sunset.

The hill is one of the best known spots in the Chapada Diamantina region, whose national park is shared by six municipalities: Andarai, Ibicoara, Itaete, Lencois, Mucuge and Palmeiras. For anything inside the boundaries of the national park, there is no entrance fee, there is no mobile phone signal, and ICMBio recommends hiring a visitor guide, since the trails are not signposted.

There is an active experience in the Vivai catalogue that includes Morro do Pai Inacio.
