Things to do in Praia do Forte

Praia do Forte is a village in the municipality of Mata de São João, on the northern coast of Bahia. It is a beach destination with infrastructure for visitors, and one of the better known spots along the stretch of coast north of Salvador.

The village is associated with the sea turtle conservation work of the TAMAR project, which has a base there. That connection is part of why Praia do Forte comes up so often when people talk about ecotourism in the region.
